Role in a work context:
Graduates with a Master’s degree will be able to perform various roles across different work environments, corresponding to the different curricula offered by the course. These include:
Functions within Public Administration: General activities of public administration; activities aimed at regulating social matters; activities aimed at regulating economic issues, particularly in the taxation sector; centralised
support services for the institutional activities of public administrations; foreign affairs; national defence; compulsory social insurance.
Functions within tourism and territorial marketing; education; associative organisations; recreational, cultural, and sports activities; news agencies; and international organisations and bodies.
Functions in financial intermediation and other monetary intermediations; credit activities; insurance activities; auxiliary activities of insurance and pension funds; and supervisory activities on insurance and pension funds.
Functions in research and experimental development in social and human sciences; business services; personnel management and administration on behalf of third parties; market research and opinion polls;
administrative and management consultancy; business administration; advertising and personnel recruitment, selection, and provision services.
Skills associated with the role:
The graduate of the Master's degree programme acquires and applies the fundamental principles of economic reasoning, the main statistical concepts used in management disciplines, and the key legal institutions of public and administrative law. They gain skills for analysing social contexts and evaluating organisational, financial, and management processes. They will also develop expertise in tax, financial, and economic management of public administrations and large enterprises.
In addition, they will acquire knowledge and skills in political-social, institutional, organisational-management, historical, statistical, linguistic, communication, and information areas. Graduates will, therefore, be able to
apply knowledge and skills in areas such as public administration and private business management and control, work organisation, human resources management, procurement of goods and services, evaluation and
implementation of public and private policies, statistical analysis and social context evaluation, management and organisation of communication flows, press offices, public relations units, tourism management, and
territorial marketing.
Career Opportunities:
Master's degree graduates will acquire versatile skills that can be applied across various professions. They will be able to work in companies, particularly in administration, management control, and corporate finance, as
well as in public administrations, including administrative departments of state organs, state administrations, and local public bodies, with particular reference to the tax authorities. They may also find employment in
associations, institutions, and private foundations with public purposes.
Career prospects also include roles in national and international institutions, private companies operating in international markets, and public and private organisations with high levels of responsibility. Graduates may also pursue professional roles within the governance structures of national, European, and international organisations, developing and implementing public policy interventions, including those related to territorial
management and the tourism sector.
In the tourism industry, a Master's degree graduate may also pursue a career as a "tourism consultant," an emerging professional figure within the broader category of business consultants.
